Unit 1: Investigation and Experimentation

                    Our Unit 1 wiki is covers Investigation and Experimentation.  The focus of this unit was to learn how to create a well-designed and organized science project.  The details of this unit included learning how to use the steps of the scientific method to make a project, how to organize, create and analye graphs, and how to write a comendable conclusion. We did so through many activities we prefomed in our table groups.  This wiki contains our five classwork assignment we did in class.

8th Grade Science Standards Covered:

Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations. As a basis for understanding this concept and    addressing the content in the other three strands, students should develop their own questions and perform investigations. Students will:

1. Plan and conduct a scientific investigation to test a hypothesis.
2. Evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of data.
3. Distinguish between variable and controlled parameters in a test.
4. Construct appropriate graphs from data and develop quantitative statements about the relationships between variables.
